The Weekly Thought Worksheet #1 - Desire to Walk with God Worksheet #2 - God's Word Worksheet #3 - Purposeful Prayer
Worksheet #4 - Walking with the Holy Spirit At the beginning of the year David List and I had a four week “audio” Weekly Thought focusing completely on walking with God in 2009. If you were able to join us, we hope God challenged you to walk closer with Him this year. If you could not make it, we have compiled short worksheets to help your walk with God that can be found in the “Weekly’s” section of the www.theweeklythought.com website. Here I summarize the key points and highly recommend you use the short, in depth worksheets provided for you. How bad do you want God? Before Dwight L. Moody’s ministry began he was told by his friend Henry Varley “it remains to be seen what God will do with a man who gives himself up wholly to God.” Moody answered to himself “I will be that man.” A friend of Moody’s, R.A Torrey said after Moody died that he believed Moody did just that. Moody was not perfect, but he “was a man fully surrendered to God, a man of prayer, a deep and practical student of the bible, a humble man, free from the love of money, consumed with passion for the lost and endued with the power of Holy Spirit.” Decision Magazine, July 2004 Depending on how fully you want to devote yourself to God will determine your destiny in life. Number one priority is spending time in God’s Word - His message to mankind. Through it He reveals Himself and teaches you how to live a truly meaningful and fulfilled life. The Bible is the widest ranging most comprehensive manual ever written. It is the most widely published, distributed and read book ever, yet is greatly misunderstood and taken for granted. We cannot walk with God and not know His Word. Charles Stanley put it simply – “If you neglect the Word of God, your in trouble.” The next key is prayer. We as Christians know we should pray and most of us do pray, at least some of the time. Most of us would also confess that we do not pray enough. Ephesians 6:12 says “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Then verse 18 goes on to say – “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.” We must turn to God in prayer for He is our victor in battle. Finally we must walk in faith by following the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the least understood member of the Godhead. Much discussion today defines him as an experience or describes him as an “it” rather than God. He is a Divine person and deserves to be honored just as we respect the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit, The Breath of God, is literally the Spirit of Holiness sent to enable and equip believers to live lives for God. Walking in the Spirit should be the norm not the exception. As believers we should seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who lives in us, and ask Him empower us to follow Him to live daily for God. Here are a couple of questions to type in answers to then print and keep in front of you this week: 1) How heavily have you been pursuing God so far this year versus worrying about everything going on? 2) How well do you study and know the truth of God’s Word to battle against satan’s lies? 3) Do you devote yourself to prayer and seeking God’s face each day? 4) Who is the strength and guide of your daily life? Prayer: "Lord, help me to pursue you with all that is within me. Help to study and know your Word, to seek your face in prayer and to follow the guidance of your Spirit – all through love! Amen.” Scripture: Jeremiah 29:13 – "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart" God Bless, Pastor and Coach Brian Williams © Brian Williams, 2009

Psalm 48:14 – “For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be your guide…” “The more time we spend in the wilderness, the more comfortable we become there.!” – Tim Hansel. How much time have you spent in the “wilderness” of life? You have either spent: 1) Very little – Which means you are probably terrified of the wilderness. Do not fear, God not only goes through it with you, He grows you while going through it. 2) Quite a bit – Which means you are being torn down or built up. If you are trudging through it on your own power, you’ll have a hard time just making it through. If you go through it on God’s power, you’ll not only make it through, you will grow stronger and be changed. © Brian Williams, 2005

Hello Everyone, Happy Thanksgiving! I wish you and your family the very best on this Thanksgiving Day. I also thought I would give you a little humor for the day. This comes from a friend of mine, Charles Chen. I thought the pictures were funny and hopefully they are not from any of your homes. Enjoy this “creativity” from redneck living and hopefully the last picture is not how you will be celebrating Thanksgiving this year.
